Are You Stuck on Somebody or Something?

Loving Reminder for Thursday, March 21, 2013

Are You Stuck on Somebody or Something?

Are you attached to getting your way? Do you need something you don’t have? Are you letting your emotions guide your way? Do you need to get something from someone?

This is not Love. This is neediness. This is not Trust. This is Fear.

To truly know Love, one must know and Love oneself. To truly know Love, one must be free to fully Be. To truly know Love, one must know and Love another. To truly know Love, one must free tthe other to fully Be.

To fully Love ourselves, we must forgive ourselves of all neediness. To truly Love ourselves, we need to forgive the past and all mistakes. To truly Love ourselves, we need to let go of fear and learn to trust. To truly Love ourselves, we must know that all things work together for Good.

We may think we cannot love ourselves without receiving another’s Love. We cannot allow ourselves to fully love and be loved, until we know and Love ourselves. We will project our self judgment, attack thoughts and guilt onto others we seek to Love us. When we heal ourselves of all judgment, fear, attack, blame, neediness and guilt, we can truly Love.

Love is an inside job. We use our relationships on which to project our conditions of Love. When we love ourselves unconditionally, we can love others without condition. When we clear away our blocks to Love, we are willing and able to Love without need or demand.

When we truly Love ourselves, we have no need to get reciprocation. When we truly Love ourselves, we support others in Loving themselves. When we truly Love ourselves, we seek only to set others free to fully Love. When we truly Love ourselves, we cling to no one and nothing.

Loving Oneself is the requirement for freedom and trust. Loving ourselves is recognizing Who We Are. Loving One Self is seeing our Holy Purpose is to be happy. Loving ourselves is supporting ourselves with healthy thoughts, words and interactions.

Each one of us is here to learn to truly Love the One We Are. When this is complete, we seek only to Love everyone. There is nothing to do and nothing to seek. All is given and received with Love.

From Louise Hay ©1988 How To Love Yourself 1. STOP ALL CRITICISM Criticism never changes a thing. Refuse to criticize yourself. Accept yourself exactly as you are. Everybody changes. When you criticize yourself, your changes are negative. When you approve of yourself, your changes are positive. 2. DON’T SCARE YOURSELF Stop terrorizing yourself with your thoughts. It’s a dreadful way to live. Find a mental image that gives you pleasure (mine is yellow roses), and immediately switch your scary thought to a pleasure thought. 3. BE GENTLE AND KIND AND PATIENT Be gentle with yourself. Be kind to yourself. Be patient with yourself as you learn the new ways of thinking. Treat yourself as you would someone you really loved. 4. PRAISE YOURSELF Criticism breaks down the inner spirit. Praise builds it up. Praise yourself as much as you can. Tell yourself how well you are doing with every little thing. 5. BE KIND TO YOUR MIND Self hatred is only hating your own thoughts. Don’t hate yourself for having the thoughts. Gently change your thoughts. 6. SUPPORT YOURSELF Find ways to support yourself. Reach out to friends and allow them to help you. It is being strong to ask for help when you need it. 7. BE LOVING TO YOUR NEGATIVES Acknowledge that you created them to fulfill a need. Now you are finding new, positive ways to fulfill those needs. So, lovingly release the old negative patterns. 8. TAKE CARE OF YOUR BODY Learn about nutrition. What kind of fuel does your body need to have optimum energy and vitality? Learn about exercise. What kind of exercise can you enjoy? Cherish and revere the temple you live in. 9. MIRROR WORK Look into your eyes often. Express this growing sense of love you have for yourself. Forgive yourself looking into the mirror. Talk to your parents looking into the mirror. Forgive them too. At least once a day say: “I love you, I really love you!” 10. LOVE YOURSELF...DO IT NOW Don’t wait until you get well, or lose the weight, or get the new job, or the new relationship. Begin now, and do the best you can.

¤ I love you ¤ and I know you love me too.

LOVE IS FREEDOM The freedom for you and I to be who we are. The freedom to live life as we do. The freedom to make mistakes and learn from them. The freedom to express our own truth as we see it.

LOVE IS TRUST The trust that there is a constant flow of love, no matter what. The trust that, in spite of life’s problems, we believe in and support each other’s right to live as we choose. The trust that in adversity, there is healing and learning and gifts of love. The trust that under conflict and emotional expression, there is love

I love you and I trust you. I free you to be all you are.
